Ivan Skvaril

Born and raised on the island of Guam, Ivan Skvaril is a Chamorro photographer and documentary filmmaker. He studied at the University of Notre Dame, from where he graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in Film Production. He currently works as a photojournalist for the U.S. Navy, capturing photos within the Indo-Pacific region, the world's most consequential theater. Ivan's interest lies at the intersection of military activity on Guam and its impact on the indigenous people. His work has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, Department of Defense, U.S. Navy, AllHandsMagazine, and more. In his free time, he loves to surf and travel. He also freelances as a digital content specialist for various brands on Guam.
